Could you raise the career ambitions of young people across East London?

Calling Business Leaders! Help us to raise the career ambitions of young people across East London

The Local London Careers Hub needs more employer volunteers who can give an hour of their time each month to work with school and college careers leaders across our East and South East London boroughs. Employers can provide a valuable perspective on how a school or college can prepare students for pathways and opportunities into careers in their industry or sector.

Whether you are working in a small or large business, you will have a wealth of experience and some great networks that can be introduced into education, to help young people understand how their studies correlate with the world of work.  We need more volunteers to join our current network of over 170 employers volunteering to inspire young people to understand the career opportunities that exist now and in the future. Each volunteer receives training and support, and is matched with a school or college in their local area.

If you, a colleague or a friend are interested in volunteering to support a local school or college to enhance their careers programme and give young people the opportunity to engage with local businesses, then contact careershub.east@redbridge.gov.uk to find out more about the volunteering opportunities available across East and South East London including Enfield, Waltham Forest, Redbridge, Havering, Barking and Dagenham, Newham, Greenwich, Bexley and Bromley.

The Local London Careers Hub is funded through the Greater London Authority, Careers and Enterprise Company and European Social Fund. It is also part of a national network of employers supporting careers provision across the country.
