Senior Policy Manager role, 1 year Fixed-Term Contract (Secondments will be considered)

We are looking to appoint a Senior Policy manager to establish, manage, and lead our Local London Local Skills Improvement Plan. This is an exciting new project which seeks to put employers and businesses at the centre of the skills agenda and enable our residents to access the information, advice and support they need to move into meaningful work.

We have created a new post to strengthen the engagement between Local London, skills providers and businesses as part of the new Local Skills Improvement Plan approach.  The focus of this new post initially will be on delivering the sub-regional annex of the London local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP) in the first 8 months of the role.  However, the post holder would also need to develop other policy positions consistent with the priorities of the Local London Plan.

Local London is the sub-regional partnership of nine London boroughs: Barking & Dagenham, Bexley, Bromley, Enfield, Greenwich, Havering, Newham, Redbridge and Waltham Forest.

The post is based in Ilford at the London Borough of Redbridge but the postholder will be required to work flexibly, including working primarily from home and travelling to meetings and events across the Local London area and working remotely as required by the demands of the workload.

The post is being established initially as a 1 year fixed term appointment with the expectation that this can be extended in due course subject to external funding.

Redbridge Council is the accountable body for Local London and Local London staff are employed on Redbridge Council terms and conditions.

Closing date: 20th November 2022
